Thanks Melbourne!

Phew!

A gallery of photographs is coming very soon should you wish to see how the launch event turned out at No Vacancy Gallery in Melbourne, but if you wish to get an idea you can see from the above collage created by the lovely Renee.

Our thanks again to Jessica Hyde for helping us to source the gorgeous furniture and decor for the installation.

Thanks to those who came along and enjoyed have a drink of the tasty organic Burragum Billi beer and the ever-amazing Vinaceous wine, and to support your local Australian, independent artistic community.

We both thank you all so very much in supporting us and your lovely kind words of encouragement, and stay tuned for details on the next exhibition!

We do have some artworks still available for sale through the Leeloo web site, so please make sure you have a look-see and pick yourself up a piece of original beauty.  PERFECT as a gift.

DisBand DisCount

Today is the last day that we have the beautiful artworks hanging in the space with the full furniture installation at No Vacancy Gallery in Melbourne, and your last opportunity to see them ‘in the flesh’.

Even if you buy one of the DisBand works from us online, for today only you can get 15% off the artworks by using the code DisBand15 during checkout (does not apply to postage).

*NB: the discount does not apply to all artworks (but most!)

It’s here!

The DisBand exhibition Melbourne-style
launch party is TONIGHT!!!

Inspired by the 40th anniversary since the break-up of The Beatles, the theme of this carefully curated exhibition, titled DisBand, is the end of relationships, be they romantic or otherwise. Having set up in Sydney in May, we’re proud to be in the somewhat more freezing location of Melbourne this week!

We have put together a mid-century styled furniture installation where visitors can tour the virtual apartment of a couple undergoing such a split, and the featured art works are on “their” walls.

We could NOT have completed all of this without the help of Leeloo label DisBand exhibition artist and architect extraordinaire Jessica Hyde of truth.be.told.

We have some never before seen works by Ben Zen, Jordan Clarke, Enyaj, Courtney Brims, Renee Anne, Jessica Hyde, Erin Flannery and Elisa Mazzone as well as originals by Natalie Perkins, Caitlin Shearer, Manuela Strano, Rebecca Murphy, Laura McKellar, Jessica Klingelfuss, Kelly Smith and tabitha emma.

Artworks will be available for sale with all welcome for the duration, and we look forward to seeing you ! All walks of life are welcome.

SO! Tonight, No Vacancy Gallery is the place to be from 6pm to 9pm! The exhibition is then open daily until Saturday August 28th from 10am to 5pm. We’ll see you there!!

NB: We unfortunately made a boo-boo in our poster and unfortunately told you that No Vacancy Gallery was on the wrong street, so we wanted to make sure we gave you the correct information.

The address for the gallery is :
34-40 JANE BELL LANE
Melbourne (and it’s in the QV building.)

We are SO PLEASED to let you all know that due to popular demand, for the first time Leeloo will present the exhibition in Melbourne at No Vacancy Gallery! A similar exhibition to that held in Sydney, expect to see some brand new never-seen artworks by Australian indie artists at affordable prices, with a special theme in a unique setting.

Inspired by the 40th anniversary since the break-up of The Beatles, the theme of this carefully curated exhibition, titled DisBand, is the end of relationships, be they romantic or otherwise.

Renee and Angela of Leeloo will be creating somewhat of an installation where visitors will tour the apartment of a couple undergoing such a split, and the featured works will be on the wall of their “living space”. This will all be of course done with the help of a more local artist and architect, Jessica Hyde of truth.be.told.

Expect to see original pieces by Australian artists Kelly Smith, Ben Zen, Laura McKellar and Elisa Mazzone as well as talented peeps like Natalie Perkins, Jordan Clarke, Courtney Brims and Jessica Hyde and many more.

Opening night will be Thursday August 26th, 2010 at No Vacancy Gallery from 6pm to 9pm, with the exhibition open daily from Tuesday August 24th to Saturday August 28th.

Artworks will be available for sale with all welcome for the duration, and we look forward to seeing you there!
